He founded the Christian Country Music Association nowplayingnashville/org/detail/31703/Christian_Country_Music_Association bridging the gap between country and Christian Country music. Because of his vision, pioneering, and determination, there are numerous national syndicated radio shows now playing on 100,000 watt radio stations. Christian Country Music is now a format with radio stations nationwide and around the world playing the sound of country music with family values. His success in Nashville has landed him among the top music executives. This success that God has blessed Gene with is one reason you hear more great songs on country radio today such as “Where Were You When The World Stop Turning,” “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” and “I Believe.” In the past country artists would record a gospel album sometime in their career, but now they are actually recording Christian songs on their albums! Gene Higgins is an extraordinary man with extraordinary visions. The association was created to not only bridge the gap between Country and Christian artists, but to bring the best of both garners together on radio and television giving them a wider audience. He is Executive Producer of thirteen award shows televised worldwide. Lonestar, Hank Williams Jr, Wynonna, Diamond Rio, Josh Turner, Collin Raye, Richie McDonald, Randy Owens, Meryl Haggard, Jamie O’Neal, and The Oak Ridge Boys are a few of country stars that has shared the stage with the award winning Christian Artists, along with a host of movie stars. You may find others taking credit for Christian Country Music but Gene was there in the beginning. The important issue here is to build on the foundation. Look around and you will find that many are promoting the same. The difference here is: Gene does not put himself in the spotlight taking up space on the shows, he does not compete with the artists on charts or in anyway. What he does is build on the foundation for the future for the artists and the music using his experience.
