FATIMA & the Eglo Live Band with ALEXANDER NUT (Eglo Records/Rinse FM) plus: SERTONE NO FAKIN MADNICE SOUNDSYSTEM June 2014 saw the release of Fatimas highly anticipated debut album on Eglo Records, Yellow Memories. Executively produced by regular collaborator Floating Points, Fatima has delivered one of the LPs of the year with her fresh take on modern soul; featuring production from Theo Parrish, Oh No, Flako, Scoop Deville, Computer Jay and the Floating Points ensemble. Few vocalists can claim to have worked with such a diverse array of musicians, a true testament of her capabilities, talents and versatility - Fatima can rightly be regarded as the unofficial voice of Eglo Records having appeared as the singer with the Floating Points Ensmble as winners of Gilles Petersons World Wide Awards in 2010 with their Maida Vale recording for Petersons radio show. She is also alumni of Red Bull Music Academy, Barcelona in 2008 and in recent times could be found performing anywhere from Montreaux Jazz Fest to Plastic People. Following Fatimas live set, co-founder of the acclaimed Eglo Records and long serving host of sessions at Rinse FM and NTS, Alexander Nut will take to the turntables to take control of the party and take us into the night with his eclectic collection of records - a man whos sounds covered by both his label and his shows are defiantly unhindered by genre, searching instead for a common atmosphere to bind the music together. Representing Liverpool on the night and connecting the musical dots will be OG beat head and Fly Hi Society head honcho, SertOne; the hip-hop stalwarts and all round musical educators since day one, No Fakin; and the extended No Fakin family in the form of the MADNICE Soundsystem. Hot Plate & MADNICE are honoured to be bringing this Eglo Records showcase to Liverpool, in what is set to be one of the gigs of the year. This is all killer and no filler, an opportunity to enjoy the sounds of one of the dopest record labels to come out of the UK in recent times.
