TONIGHT a really exciting Identity Week event-- Trans 101-- will be held! The event is hosted by Queers United in Power (QUIP), Uchicagos LGBTQ social justice RSO, and wed deeply appreciate it if you could attend this event and/or promote it to your friends and networks. !*!**QUIP has found that there is a lack of awareness about trans identities and issues across this campus, including in social justice and progressive-oriented spaces (and sometimes even in queer ones!).**!*! This needs to and can change if students, staff, and faculty take the initiative to learn about gender inclusion and transness by attending panels like this one and incorporate what they learn into how they approach social life, academia, social justice work, and community engagement. Heres the event description: Confused by terminology? Want to learn how to best support and respect your trans and gender non-conforming friends and peers? Have other burning questions related to gender identity? Then this is the event for you! This panel discussion and Q&A will explore trans experiences, identities, and narratives. The event will cover basic terminology and allyship dos & donts, plus our panelists will share personal stories and answer questions.
