TONIGHT from 9:30-midnight: the one and only SWAN JAM at The New York Jazz Bar in Montparnasse, Swan Bar. Weve been doing this for 6 years, and we still have singers who have sung with us from the very beginning, plus we always have new singers, and not only from Paris, but from all over Europe and the US and from all over the world. We have had jazz French horn players, jazz poets, jazz choirs, a capella groups, Polish rappers, tap dancers, interpretive dancers, burlesque dancers, singer-songwriters, classical singers from Germany, Austria, and Russia, jazz and cabaret singers from Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco...plus loads of local (francophone/bilingual) talent and a rich vein of chanson francaise. Add to this our usual trio including saxophonist Michael ODougherty and bassist Paul Merryl, plus our rockin singing bartender...we are like a family performing for each other in a living room; it is always warm and friendly, and always a party. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged no matter what their background, style or level.
