TONIGHT ¤ live in MALMÖ ¤ Partibrejkers/Belgrad #Could Partibrejkers be interesting to Swedes too? How? Aren’t they too rooted into (post) Yugoslav and Serbian cultural context? First of all, the deepest root of Partibrejkers is rock and roll – rhytm and blues, pank, new wave… In that sence, the energy that they are bringing is definitely universal, although they do express verbaly in the language ”previously known as Serbo-Croatian”. On the other hand, their Swedish gigs will certainly be cultural journeys. Socialist Yugoslavia was a non-aligned country, literally between East and West, and its’ culture was very much a blend of very different influences. Since the beginning of 90’s, the political, social and cultural contexts have changed there dramatically, but, as said already, Partibrejkers remained faithful to the idea of rock’n’roll. Those who come to hear them will certainly get the ”sound image” of the whole era, a snapshot from a very peculiar angle… And Cane is a real character,, fun is guaranteed, even if not a single word sounds familiar… https://facebook/events/595393867212037/?fref=ts
