TONY FERNANDES ON RIO FERDINAND Fernandes believes he has rarely seen someone so committed and up for it as Ferdinand around the training ground and in the dressing room. The Rangers chairman, whose enthusiasm for his club is also famously high said: Rio has been fantastic since he came here. Obviously we brought him in for his quality and experience - but he has been more than that. His influence around the place is tremendous. He sends me texts messages nearly every day. He loves it. He wants to mentor young players at the club. He is always telling me about the good youngsters we have he has spotted. He will send me a message saying: We can make this boy a £10m player!. There is a wonderful camaraderie in the dressing room and a lot of that is down to Rio. Quality goes so far, but you need team spirit, thats what gets you there in the end.
