TOP 8 Name: Faye Wu Ministry: Justice Position: Court Operations Support Every day I love coming to work because I know that I am a key link in maintaining the Saskatchewan justice system and keeping society running smoothly. Regardless of who I interact with; whether it is a judicial officer, a news reporter, a typist, or even a judge, I know that my duties are intertwined with their jobs and that I have the power to truly make a difference. For example, when I perform a successful cash cut-off or accurately verify court-ordered subpoenas, it makes my co-workers’ work easier and the whole institution more accountable. I also make a positive impact on peoples’ daily lives with small acts, such as when I assist them with finding the most viable payment option, processing payments that improves their offense record, or simply asking how they are doing; in order to make their day a little bit better. Im not really sure if it is the information I provide, the payment options I suggest or just the feeling that someone genuinely cares about them that ignites their confidence, but the best part of my job is when a previous offender pays off their last fine (as they invariably do), and they thank me for helping them get to their end goal, it makes my job truly worthwhile and I love my job each and every day. youtu.be/_jGMMgVxSk8
