TOP RECOMMENDATION SO FAR - My Uncles Shoes, at Venue 7 (New Town Theatre, Freemasons Hall, 96 George Street, Edinburgh). A truly wonderful show. Two incredibly accomplished performers from Brazil - no language needed though. A young lump of a lad learns how to be a great clown from his uncle, and grows up in the process. Its funny, profound, moving and beautiful, and has echoes of Fellinis great movie, La Strada. (Dillie adds - Its one of the best shows I have ever seen at the Edinburgh Festival, and Ive been coming up regularly since 1973. All three of us were moved to tears and gave them a standing ovation.)
