When they lined our river with concrete years ago, they never imagined that pedestrians, bike riders, or kayakers would need, or want, to access the river so they didn’t include any public access walkways, paths, parking lots or restroom amenities. But recently there has been a big movement to bring the people back to the river, and now there are more recreational opportunities to discover down its 52 miles than ever before. You can enjoy self-guided or docent-led tours along the banks of the Los Angeles River, or sign up for kayaking next season.
