#TOPEKATRAFFIC NOW OPEN! K-4 Bridge Replacement TRAFFIC ALERT for Thursday, December 4 in Topeka (Shawnee County) NOW OPEN! Eastbound and westbound K-4 from just east of Hays Road to just west of Hodges Road in west Topeka was REOPENED to all traffic early this morning, Thursday, December 4. The project work on the new K-4 bridge over Blacksmith Creek has been completed. Traffic control has been removed and the bridge fully reopened to unrestricted traffic. There is still some minor finishing work to complete on the overall bridge replacement project that may require minor single lane closures during weekday daytime hours. Traffic will be directed over the bridge via a flagger operation when this finishing work takes place. The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
