TOPIC: ACCESS TO FORGIVENESS TEXT: HEB. 5:9 God has fully involved Himself in man’s salvation. He played His role by sending His son to die. He sends men to go about telling the sinners the good news of His grace. But man has always reacting negatively toward God’s saving grace, Isa. 53:1-5, but even those that saw Him physically did not believe or received Him. Jn 1:11-12, but to those who will receive Him, God gave them power to become the sons of God. Even today, so many went on their different ways not fully understood the way to this forgiveness of sins. Just as it was in the days of Jeremiah, Jer. 5:31. The prophets prophesy falsely and the priest bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so; and what will you do in the end thereof? 1Tim. 4:1-2, 2Tim. 4:1-4. Also in Jer. 6:16-17, thus saith the Lord, stand ye in he ways and see, and ask for the old paths where is the good ways and walk therein, and ye shall have rest for your souls. But there said, we will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, hearken to the sound of the trumpet but they said, we will not hearken. Here we see that men had love proving stubborn to God will at different times. Body: in our today’s discussion, we will consider how Christ is the access to forgiveness of sins. 1. He is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to God except through Him. All things was made perfect by him, and without Him was nothing made perfect. Jn 1:3, Jn 14:6. The world are yet to understand how Jesus became the access to forgiveness, in Eccl. 7:29, says that God had made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. The true message that lead men to forgiveness of sin has always been ignored; Gal. 1:6. The message of the death of Christ 1Cor. 15:1-4, men goes about establishing their own ways or righteousness, not submitting to God’s own righteousness. Rom. 10:3 2. No forgiveness without full acceptance of the gospel of Christ. The gospel has it that one must hear, one must believe, one must repent, one must confess his faith in Christ and one must be baptized for the forgiveness of his sins, now if anyone omit any of this divine principles, he cannot obtain the forgiveness of his sins. Many claimed to have received the forgiveness of sins through hearing; the another gospel namely just believe and accept Jesus as your personal savior, forgiveness of sins cannot come through this gospel. And even after hearing and believing and at last one is baptized into another body, that person is yet to receive the forgiveness of sins. 3. He is now adding to more sins: The access is the church, since access means the way to something, therefore the church is that access, since Jesus is the way, those outside the body will not and cannot receive the forgiveness of sins, Rev. 22:15, outside or without are dogs, and sorceress, and whore mongers and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. No one is save outside the body of Christ. Therefore for Christ to be the true access to forgiveness of sins to anyone, one must enter into the church. Since the church is his own body, and he is the savior of his body Eph. 5:23, Acts 2:47. Therefore let us not misunderstand the true message of the gospel because it is the message about Christ and his church. How Christ came to die for the church to be established and for me and you to go into it and have forgiveness of sins, Col. 1:12-14, Isa. 2:2-3, the forgiveness of sins can only be obtained in His kingdom the church. 4. Christians should always be thankful to God. Col. 1:12-13. Those whose eyes were made open to see the light of the gospel should always live a thanks giving life to God, who has done the following, who had made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light 13v5. Who had delivered us from the powers of darkness, and had translated us into the kingdom of his dear in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. 5. Let us wake up to the tax of preaching the gospel in every corners we find ourselves. We must not keep silent. 1Cor. 9:16-17 because woe to any Christian that fail in preaching the gospel. We must not be ashamed of the gospel, we must not compromise with a different gospel, what I mean here is believing what they preach to some extern. For the time will come when men will no longer endure sound doctrine, 2Tim. 4:3 Conclusion: Therefore what so ever might be the reactions of men toward the way to forgiveness; we should try and hold to what we have heard and learned not letting it slip from us. Heb. 2:1-3, 4 if not we shall not escape in any way. Heb. 12:25. You should know that after you have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the lord and savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangle there in, and over come the later end is worse with them than the beginning, for it had been better for them not have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. II pet.2:20-22 Remember your forgiveness can be retrieve if not careful about, therefore never you receive the grace of God in vain.II cor 6:1 God bless you.
