TOPIC: BE STEADFAST TEXT: 1Corinthians 15:58, Hebrews 12:1-3 CONTENT: What does it mean to be steadfast? The word Steadfast means constant or steady. Paul admonished the Christians at Corinth to be steadfast. The same way Im admonishing us this morning that we should be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work over our Lord Jesus Christ. Though the work might seem so tough and difficult, continue, do not give up in the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not give up on serving God. Friends may mock you, laugh at you,make jest of you, despise you, e.t.c but in all these, BE STEADFAST! Seeing that we are compassed with a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and that sin which easily beset us. Eyes are watching you, people are looking on you as a child of God, both those looking on you to learn from you and those watching out for faults. We should be conscious of the life we live, be conscious of what you say, do and think because eyes are on you. Try as much as possible to keep yourself from that sin you easily find yourself committing. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, always looking unto Jesus as the author and the finisher of our faith who endured the cross and despised the shame he received because of the joy that was set before him. Jesus was more concerned about your joy and my joy. That was why he didnt look on the sufferings of the cross. If Jesus is your Role Model as most of us confess today, why dont you remain steadfast because of the race that is set before us just as Jesus was steadfast because of the joy that was set before him? If Jesus can endure the pain of the cross alongside the contradiction of sinners in his time so that you and I wouldnt be wearied or frustrated, you also can remain steadfast in the Lord to obtain a reward at the end. My beloved brethren, be steadfast in the work of God as far as we know that our work is not vain in the Lord. And as do so, you will be blessed.... PRAYER POINT: Pray and ask God to help you to be steadfast in serving him and doing the work of God despite the ups and downs in the world.
