TOPIC: THE CHARACTER OF A GODLY LEADER (THE EXAMPLE OF NEHEMIAH ) Neh. 1: 4-11, Neh. 2: 18-20 INTRO. Leaders that fear the LORD and lead others in the will of God for success and achievement are scarce in our country today. It is even said that the most important challenge facing our country today is leadership. The time is now ripe for the Church to produce leaders that would make a difference in all levels of leadership in our country. A Godly leader is a servant leader as taught by our Lord Jesus. Matt.20. 20-28, John 13.12-15. The following are characteristics of the Godly leader as examplified by Nehemiah. 1. He or She must be PASSIONATE. Neh 2. 1-5. That is he or she must show love, drive, desire and delight concerning an objective. 1 1. He or She must be PRAYERFUL. Neh.1. 4-6. That is he or she must belong to God, live by faith and remain an incurable intercessor. 111. He or She must be PURPOSEFUL. Neh 2. 11-12. That is he or she must be a person of vision and mission. Well focused and goal oriented. 1V. He or She must be POSITIVE MINDED. Neh 2. 18-20. Must be an optmist and not easily discouraged. V. He or She must be a PLANNER. Neh 2. 13-16. Must put thoughts and ideas on paper, realist, figure and facts oriented. V1. He or She must be PEOPLE ORIENTED. Neh 2.20, 5.11-13. Must be humble and love people. V11. He or She must be a Person of Power and Authority. Neh. 5. 14-15. Must be positioned to lead by calling, annointing and office. V111. He or She must be PROJECT minded especially if it is for the peoples interest. Neh 2. 5. 1X. He or She must be PEACE focused. Neh 4. 15-20. X. He or She must be PROSPERITY driven. Neh 5.17-19. He or she must be after the prosperity or welfare of his people. CONCLUSION. The Godly leader has a calling from heaven for Kingdom service. May God send more of them to our Nation in Jesus Name.
