TOPIC: TOPIC:GRACE OF SECOND CHANCE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 15:10 =>But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. It is the grace of God that makes you what you want to be. There are many who would love to be something else but which they are not especially in the area of achievement. For example, they want to be house owners but they are not. They want to be grand parents but they are yet to be. They want to be car owners but they are yet to be. There are lots of dreams that are not yet fulfilled and there is one thing that stands as a major discouragement - our age, especially as we advance in years. Of a truth, age is practically discouraging and it has made us believe that it is not possible again to accomplish our dreams and goals. Today, I want to introduce to us a grace that God has set aside to address situations like these. That grace is a grace I call divine ability of God that enable you to do what you fail to do in early stage of your life - The Grace of a Second chance. This grace is what everyone who fails to make things happen in their young age, use to make it happen in their old age. Example: Joshua 14:7-12 7. I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. 8. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’ 10. And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. 12. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said”. Caleb had practical advantage of this grace of a second chance to accomplish what he could not accomplish when he was 45 years younger. At the age of 85 years, he was able to accomplish it. I am here to tell you that the God that gave Caleb the grace of second chance is ready to give to you whatever you had wished to accomplish when you were much younger. Even at this age, you will become it. Sarai was not expected to conceive at old age...when she was told she laughed because she believed it was a joke (since joke is what you laugh over). Even as I am speaking now some will be laugh within that I am joking. The same God that made Sarai not only to conceive but to also deliver a baby son, will cause you to achieve your dreams... What qualifies you for this Grace? Loyalty to God . vs 9b => because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’ Caleb was God loyalist as a result, God gave him the grace of second chance. 2 Corinthians 9:8 =>And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: This Grace of second chance is available for only to those that are loyal to God. If you want this grace you need to be loyal to God and loyalty is well expressed in service, What service are you rendering to God? You need to think about this, even at your age there are things you can do for God... eg Praying for the church, men of God, church members etc. Cleaning the house of God Giving to the things of God etc. As you make a decision to work for God, you receive the grace of second chance. Grace to express your loyalty to God through service, receive it now. In Jesus name We have about five prayer points to pray and through these prayers the grace of second chance will come upon you. In Jesus name 1. P* The sin and the punishment of sin that made me to miss the first opportunities of my life, mercy of God, cancel them. In Jesus name 2. P* The battle of life that has succeeded in delaying my blessing, I use the rock of ages to crush you now. 3. Revelation 12:11 =>And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; P* Household enemies that have made others to wear the crown of failure in my family, I overcome you by the blood of Jesus. 4. Joel 2:25 =>And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker worm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you. P* Father of mercies, according to your riches in mercy, make grace available for me to fulfil my dreams 5. P* My father, the miracle that makes my night time to be sweeter than morning, let it happen to me now. In Jesus name.
