This is a fact of life, not a fear of life. We are all approaching our graves. Some only arrive a day, a month, or a year before others. We are all approaching our graves. Not all who slept with you last night can read this poem. We are all approaching our graves. Don’t let prosperity and power confuse you. We are all approaching the grave, and many may not have the privilege of old age. We are all approaching the grave. Less than 5 % of Nigerians are above 65 years. We are all approaching the grave. Life expectancy for Nigerians is 49.5 years by UN study. We are all approaching the grave. It started from the day of birth. We have buried the great ones. Neither Awolowo nor Yar’Adua was spared. We have buried the little ones. Graduates and non-graduates had no distinction. We have buried the married ones. Even the teenagers and singles were not spared. We have buried the holy ones. The Pastor was not separated from the congregation. Some left from a car, plane or ship, but we all shall leave. Some left from a bed, chair, or pulpit, but we all shall leave. Some left from a palace, prison, or pent house, but we all shall leave. Some left from poison, sickness or perfect health, but we all shall leave. We are all approaching the grave. Aren’t you? We will someday be buried. Won’t you? We will leave from some location. Won’t you? Then, what next? Prepare to meet thy God!
