TOTD: One of my all time favorites, Motel Hell. I originally saw this gem when I was a kid late on a Saturday night as part of Joe Bob Briggs Monstervision airing on TNT. Its always stuck with me because its nearly the perfect level of dark comedy and horror...even slapstick to a point. It stars Rory Calhoun as Farmer Vincent, who really couldnt be any better for the role. There is also small rolls from John Ratzenberger (Cliff from Cheers) and Wolfman Jack as a seedy televangelist of all things. Mr. Vincent likes to kidnap people and use them to make his famous smoked meats, but things kind of start falling apart when he takes in a young girl Terry (Nina Axelrod) to help recover from injuries sustained in one of Vincents attempts to kill passers through. Its a really fun movie that involves one of the greatest chainsaw duels captured on film.
