TRACE OF TITHE:its is difficult or doubtful to be traced/pinpoint if where and when tithing as a legalistic,obligation,must came into church,coz in early church no Apostle taught brethrens right motives about tithe,or how should they tithe,they never taught anything,but today there are many teachings you will find about tithe,that are totally wrong and out fo context,but we can say it came coz of degradation of church. Today we see nothing,but degradation in church,but Praise the Lord He is gradually restoring everything that was lost and distorted by many men of God. Some teach tithing determines a persons spirituality some went as far to say tithing is required for salvation. If one does not give 10% they are not true Christian. If you want to understand the book of Malachi read Malachi4:4. If you run into financial difficulties and are unable to feed ur family you are not obliged to continue to tithe to the church link it with1Timothy5:8. (2itus1:10-11)=their motivation is money whats your motivation? If ur family is hungry and you need to pay rent you shouldnt be obliged to tithe. The church should instead help u willingly. We have an example in Acts4:37. If you want to be blessed dont give to get more,give from your heart to others that are in needy coz its the right and required thing to do.. A careful review in NT shows us that we should not only support church,but also meet the needs of fellow Christian(Acts2:44),4:32-37,1Cori16:1-3,2Cor8:1-13,1Tim6:17-19. There is no record of early church(book of Acts) tithing in Acts4:32-37 we see people sold their portions. Was it for APOSTLES(pastors)? No but Christian community,those in need the poor,fatherless,and widow have always been the focus of God(Exo23:11,Duet14:28-29,Psalm12:5).
