TRACING FIDELS LAST MOMENTS: • Saturday 12:00pm, Fidel leaves his house situated along Miotoni Road in Karen to meet his father Raila Odinga at his father’s residence, about 10km away, had a light lunch and a discussion with visitors who included Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo and his wife before excusing himself. • At around 2pm, Fidel meets and have a brief chat with one of his friends Tom Alila in the company of Francis Atwoli, Muhoroni MP Otieno K’Oyoo and Cyrus Jirongo at Ruby restaurant in Kilimani before excusing himself to pick someone up near the Somali Embassy in the same neighbourhood. • At around 4pm, Fidel then leaves for the popular Art Café, Oval Place, Westlands, where he joins his friend Robert Gichuru for a late lunch before leaving for drinks with more friends at the exclusive Capital Club. • At 11:30pm, He again leaves after a friend identified as Banarbas Temere, a Ugandan national, invites them for a drink at the posh Sankara Hotel in Westlands. • At Sankara, Fidel and the Ugandan join Mabior Garang, son of the late South Sudan leader John Garang, and several other friends, who include one of his cousins for drinks until 2.30am. • Fidel asks for a taxi to drop him home because he is abit tipsy after the drinks. Two cab drivers from Smart Fellas Taxis come; one drive his Range Rover and follows them to his Miotoni Road residence in Karen. • At home, Fidel rings the kitchen bell, his house-help responds, he apologises to her for waking her up so late before heading to the guest wing to sleep, since he didn’t want to disturb his wife and baby who were asleep. • At around 6.30am Sunday, his wife goes to check on him only to discover his lifeless body. She calls Ida Odinga and asks her to rush there. • Before 7:00 am, Raila and Ida arrives and call for an ambulance. A Red Cross ambulance arrives but the medics tell the distraught parents and Fidel’s wife that he has already passed on. • Raila then calls some of his family members and friends to break the unfortunate news of his son’s demise. • An 8-hr. autopsy is conducted on the body by a team of forensic pathologists led by the Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor at the house. • The body is moved to the Lee Funeral Home late Sunday evening.
