TRAFFIC ADVISORY Bhartiya Janata Party Delhi Pradesh is organizing a massive public rally at Ramlila Ground on 10.01.2015 at 1300 hours. Rally will be addressed by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and some other senior leaders of the BJP. A large gathering is expected to attend the Rally from states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining places. Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for the Rally. Routes for the venue of rally: From Gurgaon: a) National Highway-8 - Dhaula Kuan-Ring Road-Ashram Chowk- Sarai Kale Khan- Rajghat. b) Mehrauli Gurgaon Road- Aurobindo Marg-AIIMS-Ring Road- Ashram-Sarai Kale Khan- Rajghat. From Faridabad: NH-2 – Badarpur – Ashram - Ring Road - Rajghat. From Sonepat: Singhu Border-NH-1 - G.T. Road-Mukarba Chowk- Azadpur Mandi - Ring Road - Civil Lines - Chandgi Ram Akhara - Rajghat. In case Outer Ring Road is free, vehicles will be turning on this road and reach Chandgi Ram Akhara. Officers concerned will take decision based on ground situation. From Rohtak: NH-10, Rohtak Road - Panjabi Bagh - Ring Road - Azadpur Mandi - Civil Lines - Chandgi Ram Akhara - Rajghat. Through Dhansa Border: Dhaula Kuan - Ring Road - Ashram Chowk - Sarai Kale Khan - Rajghat. From Ghaziabad: a) Gazipur Border – NH-24 - Nizamuddin Bridge -Ring Road - Rajghat. b) Apsara Border - G.T. Road- ISBT - Ring road - Rajghat. c) Bhopura Border - Wazirabad Road - Pushta Road - GT Road - ISBT- Ring Road- Rajghat. d) Loni Border - Loni Road - Wazirabad Road- Pushta Road - GT Road - ISBT- Ring Road -Rajghat. From Noida: a) DND Flyover - Ring Road- Rajghat. b) Chilla Border - Noida Link Road - NH-24 - Nizamuddin Bridge - Ring Road- Rajghat. Parking Areas: 1. General Parking for cars: MCD Parking Underground, Tagore Road and behind Civic Center. 2. General Parking for buses: Mata Sundri Road (only for buses with special parking labels), Power House road, Velodrome road, Rajghat parking, Shanti Van Parking, Service roads Rajghat & Samta Sthal. 3. Media Parking: Tagore Road. 4. OB Vans shall be parked on Footpath of JLN Marg opposite Ramlila Maidan beyond gate No. 2 up to R/A Kamla Market. NOTE: 1. Only a limited number of buses would be parked on Mata Sundari Road. All such buses would be displaying parking labels issued by Delhi Traffic Police. 2. All other buses carrying persons for the rally would be diverted as deemed fit, so as to reach Rajghat Crossing. DIVERSIONS PLAN: No commercial vehicles will be allowed from: (1) Delhi Gate and Rajghat to JLN Marg. (2) R/A Kamla Market to Ajmeri Gate. (3) Kamla Market R/A towards Hamdard. (4) Paharganj Chowk and Y-Point Sheela Cinema to Ajmeri Gate. (5) DDU Minto light point towards Kamla Market. (6) Lahori Gate towards Ajmeri Gate on Shraddhanand Marg. (7) Barakhamba Tolstoy towards Guru Nanak Chowk. DIVERSION POINTS FOR BUSES: R/A Jhandewalan : Buses coming from North and West and bound for Ajmeri Gate and beyond will be diverted on Rani Jhansi Road, Arambagh Road will terminate at Arambagh Road and will go back via Chtragupta Road, Paharganj Chowk and DBG Road. Tilak Marg – ‘C’ Hexagon: Buses coming from South and bound for Red fort Mori Gate etc. will be diverted from Tilak Marg – ‘C’ Hexagon. These buses will take Purana Quila Road Mathura road and Bhairon Road for their destination. Mathura Road – Bhairon Road : Buses coming from Mathura road and bound for Red Fort, Railway station etc. will be diverted on Bhairon Road for their onwards journey. ‘R.C. AGGARWAL CHOWK: Buses coming from Sikandera Road and Tilak Marg and bound for Red Fort to Railway Station via Delhi Gate will be diverted on DDU Marg; Kotla Road terminated at Bal Bhawan and will go back via express cut, BSZ Marg. Minto Road Terminal : Buses of route N0 729 will terminate at Minto Road Terminal and will go back via Minto road. Bus route 505 will be send back via Vivekananda Marg. Chatta Rail Chowk : Buses coming from GPO side, Railway Station and bound for South, East and New Delhi will be diverted towards Hanuman Setu for their destination. New Darya Ganj Road : Buses coming from South and bound for Red Fort will be allowed upto Red fort. After terminating they will go back via Subhash Marg New Darya Ganj road and Ring road. Buses coming from South bound for railway station will be diverted on Ring Road from ISBT Main Gate. RESTRICTION/DIVERSIONS OF VEHICLES ACCORDING TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED DIVERSION PLAN WILL BE MADE AS AND WHEN REQUIRED DEPENDING UPON GROUND SITUATION. HOWEVER, LOCAL DIVERSIONS SHALL BE PLYED FROM 1100 HRS ONWARDS DEPENDING ON THE GROUND SITUATIONS. No vehicle will be allowed to pass through following roads after 1200 hrs: 1. Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg from Delhi Gate towards Ramlila Maidan. 2. Ranjit Singh Marg from Barakhamba Road to Ramlila Maidan. 3. Aruna Asaf Ali Road from Ajmeri Gate towards Ramlila Maidan. SLOW MOVING: No slow moving Vehicles may be allowed towards Ring Road from the following points: 1. Old Yamuna Bridge 2. Power House Road 3. ISBT Flyover Shastri Park 4. Vikas Marg. The participants will firstly alight at places like Rajghat, Mata Sundri Road, New Delhi Railway Station or parking place and then will reach on foot to Ramlila Maidan. Due to the rally, traffic congestion is expected in the areas of New Delhi and Central Delhi. The roads affected would be Connaught Place, JLN Marg, Rajghat, Mandi House, Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Marg, Netaji Subash Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Bara Khamba Road, Parliament Street, Sikandra Road and Ashoka Road etc. Note: • No rally buses will be allowed on I.P. Marg, BSZ Marg, Minto Road, DBG Gupta Road and Subhash Marg. • No Buses including Chartered Buses will be allowed on Ranjit Singh Marg towards Guru Nanak Chowk from the direction of Barakhamba Road. • No commercial vehicle shall be allowed on JLN Marg from Rajghat. Route for New Delhi Railway Station: People wishing to go to New Delhi Railway Station from East and North Delhi should take I.P. Marg, D.D.U Marg to reach Ajmeri Gate or Paharganj side of New Delhi Railway Station. Route for JPN Hospital: People going for JPN hospital will be facilitated to reach hospital through normal route. Traffic Police has been briefed to be helpful to patients and their relatives. Special instruction to general public 1. The commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway station, and ISBT should leave in advance and have sufficient time for absorbing possible delays in routes. 2. Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads. 3. Park their vehicles only at designated parking lots and avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal flow of traffic. 4. Before starting for place of visit people should check their vehicles against acts of mischief. 5. In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is seen moving in suspicious circumstances it may be informed to Police Control Room or nearest policeman on duty. The public is advised to make maximum use of public transport, especially Delhi Metro.
