TRAGIC FATE OF INDO-NUCLEAR DEAL Five years ago Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had described the signing of the Indo-US nuclear deal as his best moment as PM . So certain was the Prime Minister about the benefits of nuclear power to deal with the countrys growing energy needs that he risked the collapse of his government. His cynics derided him. The Left pulled out of the government. But the prime minister stuck to his conviction.. But five years later, his dream of atomic energy spurring Indian growth is yet to be realised. In contrast we have become more subservient to US imperialism
