TRAIN YOUR MIND AND YOU WILL WIN OVER YOUR FLESH! Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are TRUE, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are JUST, whatsoever things are PURE, whatsoever things are LOVELY, whatsoever things are of GOOD REPORT; if there be any VIRTUE, and if there be any PRAISE, THINK on THESE THINGS, Phil 4:8. THE MOST IMPORTANT BODY PART, whether it be PHYSICAL, CORPORATE, or SPIRITUAL, is the HEAD! God gave warning and clues to this SPIRITUAL BATTLE, of which WE FIGHT, way back in the garden, shortly after Adam fell, And I will put ENMITY between thee (SATAN) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy HEAD ...., Gen 3:15. Because the CARNAL MIND is ENMITY against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be, Rom 8:7. OUR MIND IS THE BATTLE GROUND OF FLESH VS SPIRIT. Whoever WINS the HEAD, WINS the BODY, because the HEAD CONTROLS the BODY! Paul numerates ALL THINGS WE should FOCUS our MINDS, WHEN WE ARE NOT DIRECTLY TALKING WITH JESUS! The THINGS that are TRUE, HONEST, JUST, PURE, LOVELY, GOOD REPORT, VIRTUOUS, and OF PRAISE! In the following verse, Paul tells us to DO THESE THINGS, Phil 4:9. HE DOESNT SAY LEARN! Too many CHRISTIANS spend time STUDYING what they have ALREADY LEARNED! It would be like a DOCTOR or LAWYER who FOREVER REMAINS in SCHOOL but NEVER STARTS A PRACTICE! Jesus warned us about THINGS that go into our HEAD, ... Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy, Luke 12:1. Leaven symbolizes the food for thought which comes from the DEVIL! Friends, in other words Paul is saying, our FLESH wants to FOCUS on the OPPOSITE! The THINGS that are FALSE, DISHONEST, UNJUST, IMPURE, UGLY, BAD REPORT, IMMORAL, and CRITICIZE! My friends, if you cant SAY something GOOD, dont say anything at all. If you can DO something GOOD, dont do anything at all. If you cant HELP someone, dont HINDER them! If you cant PRAISE dont CRITICIZE! Most of ALL be TRUE, HONEST, JUST and LOVELY! David knew the definition of the BLESSED MAN, ... and in his law (HIS WORD) doth he meditate DAY and NIGHT, Psalm 1:2.
