TRAINING HELL: We don’t need to list everything that Craig Wright of Oshawa has been accused of and found guilty of, a simple search in google will have you reeling. He called himself a K9 specialist. He prescribed to a theory of intimidation and dominance. He had a facility called FACW K-9 Training and Rehabilitation Centre Inc. in Oshawa What he was really doing was terrorizing dogs. He was convicted of animal cruelty. He kicked dogs. He hung dogs by their leashes until they submitted. Dogs died in his care. A few dogs have gone missing and remain missing while with him. He used brute force. Court heard that on several occasions he was seen suspending dogs by leashes with pronged collars, often holding the dogs completely off the ground until they submitted. He also routinely grabbed dogs and slammed them to the ground. It was for those acts -- and one other instance in which he ran a German shepherd puppy on a treadmill for as long as 60 minutes causing the dog to become incontinent, that he was convicted. 30 crown witnesses. Craig Wright did not present a defense or provide testimony. Craig Wright stood trial and was convicted of some charges but the judge said that because his reputation has been ruined as a dog trainer, and that he has been publicity humiliated and that fact that he has now lost his dog training business, and done 90 days in jail already, as well as the fact that he was released on his own recognizence, that Craig was punished enough and handed him a suspended sentence for one year. Prohibited him from owning an animal for 5 years, and that he cannot own another dog training business for 5 years and he was given restraining orders against some of the people who testified and witnessed his brutality, But today, a new page has been turned, Durham Region’s crown attorney, Prosecutor Michael Gillen, wants jail time and has filed an appeal against the judge’s lenient sentence. Let us hope he is successful. durhamregion/news-story/4841342-crown-appeals-sentence-of-oshawa-dog-trainer-craig-wright/
