TRAINING OPPORTUNITY Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters (G 366) DATE: June 23, 2014 (1 day) LOCATION: Northampton County, PA PREREQUISITES: None The Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters (G 366) course was designed by FEMA with the goal that after completing this workshop, participants should be able to create, update, or revise an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for their community or organization to effectively address the unique needs of children in disasters. TARGET AUDIENCE: The target audience for this course includes local and state emergency managers and planners. Other individuals or groups that are crucial to meeting the needs of children in disasters and may benefit from taking this course include schools, child care providers, businesses with child care centers at their facilities, pediatricians and medical facilities that care for children, children’s social services mental health facilities, judges and other members of the legal system, privatesector organizations that support children, and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOADs). Emergency management personnel in the region will be considered first for enrollment. As space permits, other response personnel (i.e., fire, police, EMS, planners, coroners, and Red Cross) will be accepted. PREREQUISITES: None. Attendance will be approved on an individual basis. You must describe your current position or responsibilities and how they specifically relate to your need to take this course, during the registration process there is a text box next request permission to register where you can denote this information. Failure to provide this information may result in your request for admission being denied. You are NOT admitted until you receive a confirmation notice. Priority will be given in the following order: 1. Local Level Emergency Management Instructors from the host region 2. County Emergency Management Coordinators 3. County Emergency Management Staff 4. Local Emergency Management Coordinators 5. Local Emergency Management Staff 6.
