[TRANS] WuYiFans letter on Harpers Bazaar November 2014 The me who really likes travelling, due to being too busy, it was really hard for me to relax and enjoy a holiday. Although this rare opportunity to go to Prague was due to work, but after these 2 months, to me, it felt like I had a gap summer, at Prague I enjoyed a period of time where I had a holiday to myself. Over here, that moment when you decide to relax and be yourself, those people and things that are easy to get along with will be everywhere in the streets for you to meet, just like Prague Castle. Prague from history until humanities has been a noble place, especially the Prague Castle, described as the World King City. It is built on top of the left shore of Vltava river, witnessing the rise and fall of Prague, attracting people closer. History changes more, the style of each era has left their mark on the Prague Castle, and because of that it condenses a variety of architectural styles. Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, Post-modern……despite the different styles, in the end it has always carried on Prague’s never changing temperament. This feels like a recollection of life, at different stages along the way at the next corner, and the next next corner, there are unexpected retreats. St. Vitus Cathedral required the experience of a number of Craftsman’s hands in order to be completed; Prague has a reputation of being an “architectural treasure” in the world. The old palace was previously the residence of the King of西米亚 (Xi Mi Ya), and it now holds annual presidential elections. The area of the castle which is completely different to two former perceptions would be the Gold Lane, this colourful alley is the location of Kafka’s house. Kafka’s loneliness created today’s downtown scene, people used to come to the lane to fine traces of Kafka. Going down the Golden Lane of the Prague Castle, through an arch you can see a small area of open land. Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Prague. Prague is an artist’s imagination land, 365 days a year music constantly playing nonstop. Wandering in the castle’s courtyard, streets, made me think of those people in Prague who love arts and opened their arms and accepted Mozart that year in Vienna, who was suffering from jealously, and it reminds me of the completed by Kafka in the Golden Lane. As a “movie newcomer”, during my time in Prague I had also felt a lot of things: my own movie career had finally started in such a literary city, isn’t this a good start? Among the filming crew, I am the “happy fruit”, “mature brother”, working hard to play my role in the film, outside of work I relax and enjoy the moment. Through the old town, stroll around in the city, with a cool breeze blowing, listening to the amazing performances of artists on the streets…… there is still a long way to go, just go step by step. Sorry for not updating my Weibo and social sites recently, there is a lot to learn, whether if it’s music, performances or fashion. The fact that there are endless things to learn gives me the power to do things, continue learning, trying, doing my best to leave no regrets. Miss you and all the best.
