TRASFORM-ACTIONS CALL FOR PERFORMERS/ACTORS/DANCERS/ARTISTS Overview This is a call for actors, dancers and performers. We are looking for people to participate initially in a one off 3-hours workshop in London on the 8th and/or 11th of September 2014 from 4pm to 8pm. We may invite you to the next stage of the project, which is a workshop, which will culminate in a final showcase event in London to perform the work in progress on the 8th of November 2014. Another aim of the project is to promote entrepreneurial skills in the arts sector to develop further collaboration within the group and beyond. The work will involve debate, movement work, using of space and body as a starting point for narrative, non-verbal and verbal story telling, interaction and other theatrical methods. The work will primarily be creative, self reflective, collaborative, and intensive, largely movement and physical based. The artists we are looking for must be LONDON BASED and: - Socially engaged, aware and interested. - Interested in using theatre and arts as a means of personal expression. - Artists who are ready to participate actively in the project. The Project We will investigate and explore nowadays Unemployed through images and metaphors. Using artists from all theatrical mediums (visual arts, circus, clown, social theatre, performance art, physical theatre, dance, audiovisual) the project aims to bring together a group, which believe in Art as a tool for creating social change in society. Studying at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and then going on to train in Atlanta, Georgia USA - he is a keen dancer (ballet, street dance, break-dance and contemporary) and political activist. Working in London at Arts Educational and ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Art), he regularly works with young artists, actors, dancers and musicians to help them achieve the very best out of their performance. He also runs his own clinic on Harley Street aimed at therapeutic interventions within the areas of performance confidence and self esteem. His particular areas of interest are in the theatre of the oppressed, image theatre, movement and performance and the pedagogy of training and social/political awareness. Based in Camden Town, he is also a member of the London Youth Gospel Choir and has performed in 2013 in The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall and with The Royal Shakespeare Company. Emanuele Nargi Emanuele has been working professionally at international level for years as a performer, trainer and organiser within the INCA Network. His research is practice based with an ongoing focus on the scenographic presence of the body, performer training, composition of live work and the body interacting with other media (live and recorded video, computers, motion capture programmes and sound.) He is also involved with various projects around Europe on a freelance basis. In 2010 he was awarded by the AHRC (Arts & Humanities Council) for the Master In Performance Making at Goldsmiths University, London. He has been project funded by the Youth In Action Programme with the EU since 2004 which has included the following projects - London 2050 and Don Juan (INCA Arts Space) ; P.O.V; I-Migrate; Inter-Cool-Cultural (Southwark Playhouse) by Council of Europe for Youth and Theatre and Intercultural Shots, At INCA (International Network for Culture and Arts) he curates and co-ordinates teams of experts and training programmes - where participants and artists from all over Europe come and share their artistic skills and ideas.
