TREAT ANTI-ZAKIR NAIK VISIT MESSAGE WITH ALL DUE CONTEMPT IT DESERVES- Mr. Ali Awudu Iddriss, Administrator of Premium Debit Consult Ghana has asked all Ghanaians to treat with contempt, a message circulating the social media which is supposedly authored by one Pastor John Egyir Croffet of Antioch World Harvest calling on Christians to petition the government to stop the DR ZAKIR NAIK 2014 TOUR. The tour is organised to host the worlds most influential Muslim DR Zakir Naik from the 15th-20th of October 2014 in the country. The message which is making rounds on whatsapp especially, calls on the Christian Community in Ghana to join hands to pressure government to stop Islams most influential man, DR ZaKIR Naik-who shall be in the country for a three-day Islamic lectures from coming to Ghana. He is coming to give Muslims a false sense of pride and Spiritual security while at the same time dealing a deadly blow to insecure Christians who cannot defend their faith the message said. However, speaking to a group of Ghana Journalist from his office, Mr.Ali refuted the message and said one of the key lectures DR Zakir Naik will deliver was on Similarities between Islam and Christianity and said this showed the learned Muslim cleric was to only re-inforce the tolerance and peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians in Ghana. Also the topic**Misconceptions about Islam* is to clarify Islams point of view and make it more understandable to our fellow Christians in the country so we can understand ourselves better and live in a peaceful environment. You do not see a Muslim having a misconception about his own religion he added, hence for Premium Debit Consult to go out of its way to bring in Dr. Naik to clear those misconceptions shows the level at which Muslims in Ghana want to live peacefully with our fellow Christians, he added Whoever is sending this message around is not being fair to the Muslim community, as this in itself contradicts our peaceful coexistence in Ghana. Pastors treck in and out of this nation, but have you ever seen Muslims come out to stop their visits? The unnecessary fear-mongering must stop! He quipped. Every Ghanaian should disregard that message and not react violently to it all,he added. Dr Zakir Naik is billed to arrive on the 15th of October, and deliver his first lectures at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on the 17th of October and then address Accra on both the 18th and 19th of October at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, where multitudes are expected to attend. -Kumasi Journalist scribbles.
