TREATY Warriors Limerick’s wheelchair hurling and camogie - TopicsExpress

TREATY Warriors Limerick’s wheelchair hurling and camogie teams have been out in force to promote adapted sports among the student population and raise awareness around Spina Bifida in Munster. The club welcomes both able bodied and disabled members and is currently recruiting for volunteers. A recruitment drive at the University of Limerick, where students were invited to try wheelchair hurling during their lunchtime, was the brainchild of two UL Erasmus students and Mid West Spina Bifida volunteers Kelsey and Karissa Caylor. The American students began volunteering with the Spina Bifida charity based in Limerick in October and wanted to help raise awareness of Spina Bifida among the young student population as well as recruit new members for the wheelchair hurling club.
