TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:2-6) James has mentioned it all in this passage. Trials and temptations will always be in our lives. The way we handle it differs from one to another. The end results how ever justifies why we have succumbed to the trials and temptation. Core in handling it is belief and discernment. James call it the seeking of wisdom. God gave us wisdom freely and made it clear that we can ask for it at any time but we have to believe to receive it. We should not doubt for if we do we are like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. In other ways we are aimlessly blown away. Often times it is the belief principle that we fail to understand, acknowledge and perform. Questions rise in our minds and create doubts involuntarily. This per se limits us from receiving wisdom and grace. Trials and temptations will always be with us. Let us therefore ask the Holy Spirit to help us to stand firm and to enable us to understand the words of James and the entire Scripture so that we would not be blown away like the wave.
