TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED FATHER It was 11:20pm, the darkest hour of the darkest night of our life, December 18th 2013. Our father whom we always looked up as the strongest and wisest, our hero gasping for his next breath. The sound of his laboured breathing gradually subsided and the environment became quiet. We alongside with our mother, and spouses watched him pass away. We have no words to express the moment. It was unbearable. Dad, with the passage of time your wonderful character seems to evolve in our eyes, especially as a caring father sensitive even to the tiniest of our needs and desire. To the world you was then just a sincere and honest person, the integration of your straightforwardness with your well meaning personality earned you the utmost regard in the society. Dad, you will never be forgotten for your soft and consistent counseling filled with affection has touched us deeply, molding and shaping the developmental years of our life without curbing our inherent inclinations. Dad, you were a loving husband (who meant the whole world to our mother). A great father, a very affectionate father, and a grand father of our children. You have been and will always remain a beacon of light for us, guiding us through the treacherous passage of life. You were a man of principles through out your life; you stood tall for the righteous cause and never bowed to unscrupulous pressure. We feel privileged, blessed and very honoured to have you as our father. Words cannot heal the pain of losing you, may your good memories hold deep in our heart. You was an adorable person, may God give us the strength to overcome the pain of this great loss. God has ended your suffering that is the only consolation that we can hope for. May God give me the grace to carry out this mantle of leadership of this great family you have left behind. I will always work with your wise counseling that you have inculcated in me. My best friend, my best companion, my brother, my counselor, my mentor has left me. May God grant you the privilege of entering his kingdom so we can see again face to face to part no more. Adieu Father. Your beloved son Mr. Orukwowu I.F
