TRIBUTE TO MY FACEBOOK MENTOR I always feel myself diminished, a part of me gone forever whenever a close friend passes away to the great beyond. Odiakachukwu Jones-Nduka was not just a facebook friend, he was a close confidant, my mentor of sorts. I had just finished compiling a list of dead relations and friends whom i was to take to church today being All Souls day, when i popped in online, and to my utmost shock, learnt of your death in the early hours of today, November 2nd. You have always been an activist of sorts. Your political write-ups are always food for thought. On the socio-cultural terrain, you have left your indelible mark as a Nigerian patriot, Delta state Igbo and a true Anioma child. Thanks to your Pan-Igboism, thousands of Anioma sons and daughters have begun identifying with their Igboness both online via the PROUDLY ANIOMA-PROUDLY IGBO page which you created, and offline. I recall our various discussions on the Ekumeku wars, the Igboukwu bronze artefacts, the great kings of Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-Uku, Illah, the Ezechima expeditions and too many numerous to mention. Your last request of me few weeks agowas helping you get a certain rare history book by Prof. Elizabeth Isichei. I never knew that would be our last discussion. I have nothing more to say other than to pray that God grants your wife and members of your family the fortitude to bear this great loss. My prayers are forever with you as you make this journey which alas someday all of us must make. I trust you are in heaven now smiling down on us. Jee nke oma. Adieu Odiakachukwu Jones-Nduka.
