TRICK OR TREATING PLANNED FOR BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL Bridgeport, NJ (October 21, 2013) – On Saturday, October 26 at Bridgeport Speedway’s Bill Thomas Memorial, plenty of fun will be in store for fans of all ages. For children, a trick or treat session will be held prior to the racing as the drivers will bring their cars behind the main grandstand and will distribute candy to the kids. On the quarter mile track, the IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprints and 270cc Micro-Sprints will share top billing as the winner of each 30-lap feature will take home $1000. The take the green money for each main event in the micro-sprint classes will be $80. This special event honors the late William “Bill” Thomas IV. Thomas was a huge supporter of Micro-Sprint racing at Bridgeport Speedway and passed away on October 23, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer. Also, each finishing position in the Micro-Sprint classes will be sponsored. The cash collected in this endeavor will be added to the attractive purse. To date, several finishing positions have been sponsored at greater than the $10 stated minimum. Car entry forms for the Micro-Sprints are available at bpspeedway under the driver forms tab. A time trial format will be used to set lineups for the heat races for the Micro-Sprint classes. In addition, the 4-Cylinder Enduro Cars will race for an enhanced purse through the efforts of Black Flagged Racing and Scott Dunn Auto Service. If 16 or more cars are entered, the winner in this division will go home with $300. The Delaware Chargers and Super Trucks are invited to participate in this event. The Slingshots by Tobias will be returning to the inner oval at Bridgeport Speedway and a $500 payday is available to the top finisher if a minimum of twenty cars are on hand. The big racing card will be rounded out by the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars and an 8-Cylinder Enduro contest. On Saturday, October 26, the gates open at 3:00 p.m. The trick and treat session for children will get underway at 4:30 p.m. on the midway behind the main grandstand. Racing revs up at 6:00 p.m. Pit admission is $30. Admission to the grandstands is $15 with no charge for kids 9 and under. In case of inclement weather, the Bill Thomas Memorial will be moved to Saturday, November 2. Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free parking, giveaways, and fan participation games. As a premier racing complex, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
