TRIP RECAP!!! THANKS to all of you who followed my daily trip updates and photos...it was SO much fun receiving all the likes shares and especially comments....ESPECIALLY the many comments from DESIREE (so much fun chatting real time with you almost every day), DEE, XOCHITL and JACQUELINE! AND...so many people whom I havent really been in contact with!!! I hope everyone enjoyed my posts as much as I enjoyed sharing... TRIP HIGHLIGHTS:.....There were so many....but briefly: THE BEST WITHOUT QUESTION: Travelling with Rob and Sherri for the whole trip, and then Shelley, Ashley, Shelley and Barry for the last half. YOU all MADE the trip priceless...sharing our adventures with people you love and enjoy is the best. The NEW friends we made: Lynn, Bob, Laurie, Glen, Bobbi, Howard: See you on a future cruise!! Email me ([email protected]) so we can exchange addresses, phones and email addresses. THE TRIP......WHAT REALLY STOOD OUT: The comments and embarrassment of foreigners for us, and and other Americans alike at the insufferable and inexcuseable government closures, especially the American Cemetray in Normandy....and then breaking into the cemetary...and helping two French ladies over the wall....being asked if I was American, and then having one of them start to cry, hug me, kiss me and say merci.... 80,000 (eighty THOUSAND) memorialized names on the walls of the Pinkus Synagogue in Prage...locals Czech Jews murdered by the Nazis..seeing VILEM AND PAVEL SONDERLINGs names on that wall..... The Budapest Synagogue.....The Amsterdam Portugese Synagogue, the Synagogue in Regensgerg.....The Anne Frank House and Museum.... Truly a trip in Jewish history, heritage, culture and most of all Survival....NEVER FORGET. SO proud of my people and their will to survive and tell their story at all costs. The two hour drive into Rouen (going 1 mileandLynn finally saying SCREW IT...and going the wrong way on a wone way street...)....finally arriving at one of the top hotels in Europe..only to get stuck in the elevator!~ (This is NOT good...its going to get warm in here)!!!....tooo funny Robs COKE ZERO experience!! (you had to be there to understand this one). The Danube in Budapest by night....Ive never seen anything so beautiful in my life The people...everywhere. The French, Czechs, the Hungarians, etc. EVERYONE we met, from wait staff to people on the street, they were ALL amazing, humorous, helpful, and just fun. The Ama Waterways River Cruise...! This ISNT like the cruise your parents (or contemporaries) are used to. Totally upscale....but a cruise NOT for sissies! So amazing....the tours, the history, the personnel, the food, the local entertainment, the local wines.....well be back for another one. And these were only some of the highlights...so many laughs, such great food experiences, such a great trip .....THANKS TO THE COUSINS, FRIENDS, NEW FRIENDS, AND EVERYONE for making this such a fantastic trip... Now..Hi ho hi ho..its to the gym I go....
