TROOP A NEWS RELEASE September 27, 2014 Troopers Seek Public’s Help in Locating Baton Rouge Area Hit and Run Vehicle Baton Rouge – At approximately 11:30 pm on September 22, 2014, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a hit and run crash that occurred at the intersection of LA Hwy 73 (Jefferson Hwy.) at LA Hwy 1248 (Bluebonnet Blvd.) in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash injured a 29 year female from Port Allen. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Amber Sandifer (no relation) was driving a 2005 Nissan Sentra westbound on Jefferson Hwy. As Sandifer traveled through the intersection, Troopers believe that a northbound yellow Scion tC (possibly a 2004-2010 model) struck the Sentra in the left rear. The unknown driver of the Scion continued traveling northbound on Bluebonnet Blvd. towards US Hwy 61 (Airline Hwy.) Sandifer was transported from the scene to Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge with moderate injuries. Based off of evidence at the scene Troopers believe that the Scion may have an aftermarket bright yellow paint job, and will have damage to the left front fender, headlight, and front bumper area.
