TROPICAL STORM GONZALO UPDATE, 10.13.2014; 6:28 am (AST): AT 7:00 am, TS Gonzalo was located near 16.8N.. 60.9W, approx 270 miles ESE of STT, STJ, WI; 235 miles ESE of STX & 330 miles ESE of SJ. Motion has veered a little more N, as it was moving 270 degrees, but now 280 degrees at 10 mph. Winds sustained 60 mph with gusts to 70 mph. Gonzalo will overspread USVI, BVI Monday evening & reach PR early Tuesday am. Rainfall expected from 6 to 12 inches (per my NOAA Radio), from Monday to Tuesday. WARNINGS/WATCHES: A TS Warning & Hurricane Watch & Flash Flood Watch is in effect for USVI, PR & BVI surrounding coastal waters, through Tuesday afternoon. Preparedness: Now is the time to make your final preparations!! Conditions for our Local Forecast Area will begin to deteriorate rapidly later today as TS GONZALOs outerbands begin reaching our area & especially this Evening. Please secure your boats. Check your Hurricane Kits, & get any last minute supplies, including gas, money. Be safe and diligent please! Our concern is your safety. And check your local Meteorological Organizations.
