TROPIMUNDO is the first MSc program (2 yrs, 120 ECTS) that integrates the knowledge & skills related to 4 interlinked tropical ecosystems under threat : tropical rainforests and woodlands, wetlands - both terrestrial and coastal such as mangrove forests, seagrass beds and coral reefs. And how does it work ? Semester 1 : students start at the EU expert higher Institutes of their choice, in Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Vrije Universiteit Brussel), France (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle) or Italy (Università degli Studi di Firenze). Semester 2 : travel to the tropics in Peru (Universidad Científica del Perú), Cameroon (Université de Dschang) or Australia (University of Queensland). Courses & field experience include hands-on experience in tropical sites. Semester 3 : specializing in a EU expert higher Institute different from the first one, with a wide variety of subjects ranging from biodiversity databases to the conservation of traditional ecological knowledge. In Semester 4 : return to where the journey started for thesis research - jointly supervised by 3 or 4 partners. Graduates obtain multiple Degrees, a joint Europass Diploma Supplement, a Europass Mobility and a Europass Language Passport.
