TRUE EXPERIENCE. SPIRIT OF TRIBALISM AND LANGUAGE I was standing infront of stambic bank opposite ABC transport Utako, Abuja this morning and i saw two groundnuts sellers walking toward me, as they were coming closer, the lady infront start answering a telephone call and i heard her clearly speaking my language, ( enem abole? Ipo oleh yo lohi iche ba? Ainya enem) mama how are you? How is the village today? Thank you mama. yes that is my language, idoma language to be precise. Am not in the mood to eat groundnuts, am not hungry, am not even attracted to the groundnuts.. But she spoke my language, yes my language. I just came out of an office where everybody was speaking igbo language except me and right outside, this groundnuts seller spoke my language, yes my language in the middle of abuja. Suddenly a peaceful wind blew right through my heart, i got in the mood, i became hungry and attracted to the groundnuts, yes just like a magic. So i called her and said (madam cup aiyi wey emula ne) how much is one cup.. Within seconds, business was transacted and extra cup was given to me because i chatted with her in same language (idoma) I left her feeling happy and satisfied and she also left me in same mood Am using this groundnuts incident because i personally experienced it. But in reality and on many occassions, we all feel like speaking our languages and always feel very happy and joyous when our tribal man or woman is been elevated to a high position or won a great award. Truely we love where we come from and that is the spirit that kept us going. If Senator David Mark and Gen. Buhari are contesting for presidential seat of Nigeria from different parties, who among them do you expect me (an idoma boy) to vote for?? (c) michael owie felix
