TRUE FAITH IN GOD AND HIS PURPOSE HAVE SOLID FOUNDATIONS Hello, how are you today? The apostle Paul wrote: “Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey.”—Col. 2:8. Today, there is a rising tide of atheistic and evolutionist propaganda dependent on flawed and baseless reasoning. We should not let this flood of faulty thinking confuse or intimidate us. I have a friend that was studying the Bible with an atheist; this friend one evening asked me to explain to this Bible student why I believed the Bible. I stated that was simple; “Bible prophecy has always been fulfilled accurately. Being a historian and chronologist helps me to have true faith based on accurate knowledge, not on blind credulity. People that. DENY the clear evidence have never taken a deep look into what has happened in history and what is happening today. Those who claim to have investigated, yet still doubt, their investigation was perfunctory at best. I said that only a buffoon would believe the utter nonsense that supposedly educated “thinkers” of this world deal out to mankind. I don’t let other people make important decisions for me and neither should you.” A Scripture comes to my mind, 1 Cor. 1:18-21 reads: “For the speech about the torture stake is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is God’s power. For it is written: “I will make the wisdom of the wise [men] perish, and the intelligence of the intellectual [men] I will shove aside.” Where is the wise man? Where the scribe? Where the debater of this system of things? Did not God make the wisdom of the world foolish? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not get to know God, God saw good through the foolishness of what is preached to save those believing.” All Christians must prepare themselves to resist such an onslaught and the peer pressure associated with it. Faith in the Bible and in God himself is sure to be strengthened by an honest examination of the evidence in favor of creation. In contemplating the origin of the universe and mankind, many would like to rule out the influence of any force outside the physical realm. If we were to discuss matters from that standpoint, though, we would not be weighing all the evidence impartially. Moreover, we would be ignoring the obvious existence of orderly, purposeful creations “without number.”—Job 9:10; Ps. 104:25. The apostle Peter stated: “Consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul according to the wisdom given him also wrote you, speaking about these things as he does also in all his letters. In them, however, are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unsteady are twisting, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.”—2 Pet. 3:15-16.
