TRUE STORY: I love this part..... Lately things have been... a little intense shall we say? Lots going on with the ramp up for the new CD release of ORIGINAL coming soon and exciting beautiful stuff happening, the DELUXE package pre-orders, the Memoir, fully independent on my own Fathead Records again... it goes on... Needless to say there is a LOT of pressure that goes along with all this excitement, decisions, deadlines and budget and faith challenges.. I kinda feel like my head is being pressed on with two metal grill plates...kinda like a Paninni sandwich... Anyway, last night I went to get a few groceries... It went like this: A young man bagging my food: Do you need help with carry out Maam? ME: Yes thank you I do. Im just parked over here. Young man: How has your day been maam? Me: Well...(exhale) A little bit of pressure right now... kinda intense... He stops, my groceries in hand and turns and looks me in the eye and says You know what I just learned about pressure? Do you know how diamonds are made? It takes a tremendous amount of high heat and pressure to make a diamond out of a rock... Me: head down, smiling and tears start... Him: You gigglin maam? Me: No honey, you are making me cry...You just made my whole day... Thank you.. I really needed that... Young man: You are welcome maam. Dont you worry about a thing now... everything is alright...you have a beautiful night now... Yep... Makin Diamonds...THATS my status.
