TRUE STORY: So I wanted to share a story from the heart this Veterans Day. When I join the Army National Guard of the United States Virgin Islands, wasnt my first choice. I so badly wanted to go Active duty Army. This was back in December 23, 2003 is my date I sign my life away. Didnt know what I was getting myself into, but there wasnt anything on the island worth my wild. I was only 21 back then. In Late March the following year I believe I venture to Basic Training, and AIT. My MOS, WAS B95, Military Police. The 17 weeks was the most emotional, yet rewarding time I have ever had.. I came home, physically and mentally tough... but that not what I came here for you to hear. I sat down and took a look at my life, and remember taking the ASVAB test, My result gave me Three MOS s: Network Tech, Truck Driver, and Military Police. The truck driving and the Military police came with additional 3,000 bonus. So, I was like I am not driving no Truck, so I choose the MP. But what so ironic is that this ASVAB test has really told my career choices in life. Just before I left to go in to the National Gaurd, Yes at 21, I was working as Tech support for Internet and Cable at Choice communication on St. CROIX, Then I did Security for the NATIONAL Gaurd for a moment. Left came state side and work in a call centers, working with cellular equipment and plans, and yeah now today I am am truck driver! Aint that ironic?
