TRUST BUT VERIFY: I heard Prakash Javedekar being interviewed by Karan Thapar today. To put it mildly, he was not merely reassuring, but downright refreshing on the issue of freedom of the press. I also have the following quote from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, as written to Mona Patel, one of Sanctuary familys most active photographer-designer-conservationists: Human beings, being progressive, have lost their connection with mother nature. Still our inner self gets connected with hte nature and makes us feel one with it. Indian culture has respect for all living beings and that is why our ancestors have imagined TIGER with the Goddess Amba, just to give them equal respect and protection. Now is the time to wake up and conserve all elements of nature because the Earth is the only place, we have for habitation! What we need to do now as a group of people who want that natural India is not sacrificed on the alter of quick economics, is to hold the new leaders of India to their articulated promises and trust their intent... but verify implementation on a daily basis.
