TRUSTING GOD IN THE TOUGH TIMES As it is written in Matthew - TopicsExpress

TRUSTING GOD IN THE TOUGH TIMES As it is written in Matthew 24:6-8, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Your reaction to what people are going through because of tests or trials; should be praying for those that are going through and not judging. The test/trials were designed to get them to trust God (Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4). In Luke 13:1–5, Jesus cautioned against concluding that the victims of tragedies were people whose sin was worse than others were. He drew His audience to a different conclusion: unless they repented, they would all perish as well. Jesus also reminds us, “But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.” Mark 13:7 Thought to Remember Trust in God leads to blessing. So walk wisely & stay in the Word of God—security can only come by trusting God, not by relying on oneself (Proverbs 28:25, 26). In good times and bad, continue to trust God. Jesus’ words and this year’s deadly disasters remind us that life is uncertain, and the time to repent is now. Death is our destiny “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” (Hebrews 9:27-28), but whether it will come by an earthquake tomorrow or by old age in later years, we cannot say. The important question is “have I repented”? The choice is yours, and the time to choose is now. Prayer Father God, we know that some disasters are the result of human sin and/or bad decision. For you said in Your Word, “My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14) LORD God even in our suffering, we rejoice because we trust You, and we know that Your love never fails. In Jesus’ name, amen.
