I thank you that you kept John, Tootie, Hoppy, and me safe in the night. We need you; we have no one to protect us besides you. Father, clear my mind … I kept thinking about that song – It’s all about the Base – of all things. Maybe … I should listen to it for a couple of times to get it out of my brain … plus … I like it. My mama used to say, “A poor excuse is better than none.” Now, it’s out of my system! Some things just need to be declared. Father God, I thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. I am fearfully and wonderfully made in your sight, and you are the lover of my soul. I am beautiful in your sight, and what is trash to one man may be treasure to another man. Life is good – today – because you are the center of my life. I love you and I don’t need to wonder if your desire is for me. I thank you that I can be secure about you … about me … as you work in me to make me “the me” you desire for me to be. I want to lose all the extra weight and become healthy and feel even better about myself, but I do have lots of reasons to feel good about me right now. I am not my body, I just live in it. “Anyone” who doesn’t want to be my friend because of my size (a size 8 or a size 18), isn’t someone I desire to be friends with anyway.
