TUESDAY 16 JULY 2013 DO NOT SHUT YOUR EARS AGAINST THE GOSPEL Acts 7:54 - 60 OVERVIEW In Acts 6:8 - 13, Stephen was conspired against, for his incredible strength, sound teachings and working of miracles; But why. In this Ch.7, the persecution, gave him strength unto death to reveal Christ the more to his antagonist without minding the dangers. His death in Christ became glorious as against the destiny killer who dies in sin. As a devoted Christian/Elder, do not loose focus on Jesus in time of trials, while the wicked should repent and be saved Vs 59 & 60. Those who are religious should know that without Christ manifesting in them, their faith is worthless. One wonders why the evil minded persons, still shut their ears against the gospel with great manifestations, in the powers of the resurrected Christ:-in healing, raising the dead, changing lives for good, creating joy in place of sadness, setting loose those who are bound in sins and afflictions. Even most Christians have decided to shut their ears against this gospel of correction in their wrong conduct and behavior, with the mind that they can later ask God for forgiveness with Ps. 51. The truth is that, if you continue to persecute God’s servants out of envy, jealousy or with the mind to destroy the gospel, you are persecuting Christ the second time. Then be ready for the show down in frustration and damnation in hell. He comes again in. TONIC POINT (1) Still be bold for Christ in time of trials Vs 54 - 56. (2) Do not shut your ears against salvation Vs 57 & 58. (3) In your trials, ask for God’s mercy Vs 59 & 60. FOCUS OF THE DAY Do not shut your mouth even when they shut their ears against the gospel.
