TUESDAY EVENING UPDATE Snow & Wind continue in Labrador - TopicsExpress

TUESDAY EVENING UPDATE Snow & Wind continue in Labrador tonight... but the Sun will shine tomorrow! Newfoundland will see some Sun on Wednesday as well. Enjoy it, the long range looks stormy! Details below... WEDNESDAY Onshore flurries & snow squalls continue along the West Coast on Wednesday with generally 2-5 cm of Snow in the steadiest bands. Theres a chance of some flurries pushing up into Central and Eastern Newfoundland on Wednesday. Otherwise, Wednesday looks quiet with winds slowly easing and temps in the 1° to -4° range. Labrador will see some lingering flurries along the Coast and in the East, however those look set to wrap in the afternoon, with Sun building in from West to East. Winds easing through the day. THURSDAY NIGHT-FRIDAY In the long range, the Island is looking at back to back Storms on the way. The first will track in on Thursday night & into Friday and looks set to bring Snow to a good portion of Central and/or Eastern Newfoundland. Based on current projections, this system looks set to drop anywhere from 10 cm to as much as 20 cm of Snow. The track of this system will be key, with the heaviest amounts likely to fall just West of that track. The Avalon Peninsula may find itself right along the track of the Low, if so, theres a good chance the Snow will make way to a brief warm up and change to some showers or drizzle on Friday morning. The question of course becomes, how much Snow before that change over? The short term models on Wednesday should provide some better insight into the track & projected snowfall amounts. More details tomorrow here on the blog. SUNDAY Yet another storm looks set for Newfoundland & likely Eastern Labrador as well, on Sunday. Forecast models are projecting this Storm will be a strong one, with Winds looking like story #1. Again, were still 5 days out so a lot can change, but the latest tracks are bringing the system up over Central or Western Newfoundland with a mostly rain event looking set for most of the Island. With this track, Most of Eastern/Central Labrador could be looking at another Snow & Wind maker. Again, its a long way out but certainly one to Ill be watching over the next few days. Stay tuned!
