TUESDAY RAINFALL & THUNDERSTORMS UPDATE Well there has been some decent rainfall totals in parts of the region in the 24 hours to 9am this morning, Carfax to the north of Middlemount received 61 millimetres from thunderstorm activity overnight. Were expecting a line of thunderstorms to develop later this afternoon between about Biloela and up to near Charters Towers. These thunderstorms should develop and head towards the east and there is a reasonably good chance that these storms will make progress towards the coast. Anyone from Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount and Collinsville, east towards the coast has the potential to see some thunderstorm activity this afternoon and tonight. The BOM has issued an alert for aviation pilots landing at Mackay Airport anytime after 3pm that thunderstorms are possible. This is being significantly helped along by the ridiculously hot and humid conditions were experiencing today. As of 12:00pm today (Tuesday 30/12), current temperatures include: • 34.0°C in Proserpine • 34.7°C in Mackay • 34.7°C in Eton • 35.2°C in Walkerston • 34.1°C in Sarina • 33.3°C in Moranbah For the 24 hours to 9am this morning (Tuesday) rainfall totals in the region included: • 61mm at Carfax • 37mm at Braeside • 33mm at Funnel Creek • 30mm at Eton Range • 26mm at Middlemount • 20mm at Dysart • 17mm at Capella • 16mm at Sarina Range • 13mm at Eton • 13mm at Brightly • 12mm at Mount Spencer • 11mm at Nebo • 10mm at Munburra • 06mm at Bluewater Quay Mackay • 04mm at Homebush • 02mm at Moranbah
