TUESDAY TIPS: “10 Mistakes Brides Make” I was reading a recent article in “Cosmo Bride” Magazine, which I thought I’d summarize and share with our followers. These, according to the “been there, done that brides” are the 10 top Mistakes that Brides Make: 1. GOING OVER BUDGET It’s easy to get carried away. So before the madness begins, sit down, work out a budget, create a spreadsheet and allocate a figure for each item…and then stick to it. 2. ACCEPTING FULL PRICE Don’t take quoted figures as the final word, there’s no harm in asking for a discount, even a small figure helps! 3. NOT GETTING IT IN WRITING Don’t rely on verbal quotes, always ask for everything in writing. Vendors can forget things or change their minds – best have it in black and white for future reference 4. PROCRASTINATING TOO MUCH If you see something you like, lock it in! If you constantly worry about if there is a better option out there, it will be too late and you may miss out on your choice of venue, photographer etc. 5. CHOOSING ANY OLD PHOTOGRAPHER Remember your choice of Photographer will stay with you forever, only a true specialist will capture the essence of the day 6. NOT HAVING A BACK UP PLAN You can’t predict the weather. So always have a plan B – especially for beach weddings! 7. SHOPPING ONLINE Nothing beats the experience of seeing things in person and trying them on! By all means shop around and get ideas, but avoid disappointment by purchasing face to face. 8. LOOKING TOO DIFFERENT The aim on the day is to look like a better version of yourself. So if you don’t normally have blond hair or wear red lipstick, then today is not the day to give this a try! 9. DISREGARDING YOUR GUESTS Yes, it’s your day, but be mindful of your guests, make sure they are comfortable and you have provided enough food, drinks etc. 10. FORGETTING WHAT THE DAY IS ABOUT It’s easy to get caught up in the madness of planning such a huge event. Don’t forget that you are there to celebrate the love and commitment you and your partner have for each other.
