TURTLES RESCUED!! Pensacola, FL ~ Several days ago, I noticed a large water turtle trapped in a small concrete overflow area at the retention pond next to Walmart on Hwy 29. The turtle kept trying to climb up over the concrete lip to get to the main pond, but was not successful. I went back yesterday to check on him and he was still trapped. Fortunately, there was still some water in the overflow area. I called Walmart and was eventually put in touch with the Assistant Manager, Cynthia. I explained the situation and asked if they had a key to get inside the gate of the barbwire fence. SHE SAID SHE WOULD GO OVER AND GET THE TURTLE OUT AND INTO THE MAIN POND!! She called me back an hour later and said 2 turtles were trapped in there and she got them both into main pond. WOO HOO!! I was astonished at how compassionate and a take action person she was. ••••••► PLEASE call Walmart and thank Assistant Manager Cynthia for going above and beyond. 850-484-3771.
