TUT: Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment Tshwane, 20 September 2014 – The Tshwane University of Technology has announced that all campuses will be closed from today, 20 September. All residence students at all campuses must vacate their rooms by this afternoon at 17:00 for their own safety. This follows violent protest action that erupted at the Soshanguve and Ga-Rankuwa campuses last night that caused extensive damage to University property and threatened the safety of students. The University is bringing forward the official recess to commence on Monday, 22 September 2014 and talks with student leaders will continue during this time. The University reached this decision in consultation with the Chair of Council. We will advise on the formal re- opening of the University.
