TV UPDATE: How To Get Away With Murder - for the first episode I feel the murder case was weak and it wasnt won by some savvy, smart lawyering. In fact, if Annalise didnt have her students, what exactly was she going to use for her case?? One student found out about the color blindness and the other found the emails. Other than that, I didnt get the sense that Annalise actually had a case prepared. She gets one piece of evidence the night before or the morning off and then presents that. So I ask, without her students contribution what case did she really have? Worse of all, she had the nerve to declare none of your approaches are better than mine - and then proceeds to write down 3 very basic items. Nothing earth shattering. And Im like huh, thats it?? The show has potential of course, but the cases, and the prep for the cases dont show much smarts. Also the flash forward is a rip off of Revenge - which began its first two seasons with the flash forward of a murder and the rest of the season is spent building up to that. Other shows have used it too. So nothing novel about that. Anyhoo, I need this show to get smarter and sharper. Annalise and her associates have yet to demonstrate to me why theyre badass.
