TV desert time? No! Everybody who ever missed it in its (under-valued) real-time era 12 or so years ago: HBO is re-showing THE WIRE, all of it. Yes, indeed (unoriginal thought), David Simons gem iis the best drama series ever shown on television. John and I were knocked out all over again, re-seeing three epis in a row last night. Every single character (we were so excited to see them again!) has specificity and humanity, even the lowest down dope dealers. Bursting with natural acting talent and amazing writing and realism. And, of course, this is where Idris Elba and Dominic West got their US starts. (Cant wait to see the Amy Ryan epis; she is one of the best actresses working, and got robbed of an Oscar for that Ben Affleck moviea few years ago.) Thanks for the tip, Gaylen Ross
